GZA EXPO MISSION STATEMENT
Greetings, and welcome to a virtual reimagining of the Ground Zero Animation Expo! My name is Eric Rodriguez, Lead Design Engineer and long-time supporter of the GZA Expo. Due to the effects of COVID-19, in good conscience, we chose not to have our annual show in person so as to protect the health of our vendors, sponsors, staff, and attendees.
However, in early 2020, the GZA EXPO opted to make the best of this unfortunate reality and find another way to host the event. By taking the show to the digital realm and partnering with the talent company “Gather. Town,” we felt that we would not only have the opportunity to have a completely safe and pandemic-free event but also open up our show to a tremendous amount of talented artists overseas. Vendors and attendees are no longer required to physically travel to the United States at great expense. In 2021, we here at GZA Expo can thrive and network in this completely virtual online community!
Now, attendees may experience our EXPO as a virtual avatar equipped with a camera and microphone so that you can connect with others just by walking up to them! Attendees and vendors will be able to explore a fully functioning digital building with familiar sites such as Artist Alleys, the Cartoon Theater, a Virtual Arcade/Lounge, Virtual Life Drawing, and the Premier of three original Cartoon Properties. Animation students, professionals, and enthusiasts alike will be able to rub digital shoulders and travel freely (and safely) through our digital EXPO.
